Review:Edit: About 2 months after buying it the bass drum started to lose its sensitivy, it started to go out. All of my other pads works great just my bass drum. I contacted Alesis and they shipped me out another pad the same day and only on the phone for 5 minutes. Great customer service. I may have just got a bad pad. But regardless i still like the set, but buyer beware, alesis doesnt have the best trigger system. Orginal:Absolutely amazing, i love it, plays great easy to set up, absolutely great Read more

Review:I love the kit so far. I've had it for over 7 months now. I've added a cymbal and Tom from my old alesis kit (one of the cheap rubber kits) and it plays great with it, It's set up almost like my acoustic kit. I do think I might upgrade the cymbals soon though as a couple of them dont register me grabbing to stop the sound anymore but no big deal, they still work completely apart from that. The whole kit has taken a beating and keeps on rocking!!! Read more

Review:My husband had a drum set awhile back, but once we moved into our new home (no basement and open floor plan), I put my foot down on owning one. Since then, we have found this one and my husband's dreams can once again be realized rather than crushed. Now, you just hear some tapping rather than giant crashes and bangs and it's a lot easier to live with and tune out...unless he forgets to put the headphones on I so lovingly bought him. Every boy that walks into our house has to play with the drum set. This set has saved my sanity as well as my husband's since he won't have to listen to a nagging wife. Well, at least with this issue... Read more

Review:I loved it at first. Then the snare triggers broke. Messed with every setting, changed crosstalk and sensitivity but nothing. Tried contacting alesis because I’ve only had it for 3 months BUT they do not have a phone number you can call. I tried going through their support but they never have gotten back to me (tried 3 times so far) so no, I would not recommend this product solely because of their customer support. Sure you’ll think what I did “I won’t have any issues” and then your triggers will break and then you’ll have a useless snare drum that can’t be used for anything, and no way to get it fixed properly, wether you get protection or not. Review:I had the $350 nitro Mesh kit before this for 6 months and no issues. This $800 new kit the kick pedal broke within a week. And I have to wait WEEKS for a replacement. What a pain the ass. I understand sometimes electronics go out but what a disappointment. Ruined my hype. Overall this kit is honestly amazing if I was ABLE TO PLAY. Double the money and double the hassle Read more

Review:It has now been over 8 months since I've bought this and I have already gone through THREE snares. Reason being they wear down and the sensor doesn't pick up the hits. Read more

Review:Very high-quality construction and outstanding price for durable dual-zone 2-ply mesh pads all around, chokeable crash/ride cymbals, great feeling 2-ply mesh kick, solid drum rack, and the various other bits and pieces. The pads are all extremely responsive with next to no hotspotting (thanks to the 4 [toms] or 6 [snare] foam piezo-to-mesh contact points in each pad, as opposed to a singular foam cone right in the center on other manufacturer's kits). Dynamics are great, rim and head zones register hits perfectly, and they're quiet(ish). The cymbals are probably the weakest point pad-wise. That's not to say they're bad--they register hits, dynamics, and chokes very reliably. They're just single zone (marketing says they're dual zone, but they mean one zone for hits and the other 'zone' is the choke switch) and on the small side. So no ride bell or edge sounds out of the box. Otherwise they're durable, accurate, and overall fully functional. The module has a ton of sounds, settings with which to tinker, and connectivity options. The built-in sounds are...passable depending on your circumstance. If you're just playing for you in your headphones you'll find many sounds fit the bill. If you're trying to perform on stage then it'll be much more difficult to find and tune sounds that will work well enough...but it's nigh impossible to blow anyone away. Don't buy it for the sounds, unless you're just going to drum the days away with headphones. Don't let that discourage you though! With the USB-MIDI and traditional MIDI output options, you have two ways to pipe the Command's hits/MIDI info to your computer. There you can use standalone drum software like the free MT Power Drum Kit and Steven Slate Drums 5.5 Free or higher quality paid options like EZdrummer, Addictive Drums, or my personal favorite SuperiorDrummer 3 to trigger incredible sounds with enhanced dynamics and realism. I've upgraded my Command set with 3-ply white heads, a triple zone ride (took some finagling to get to work), and a 2-piece hihat and remote/cable pedal for a way more natural and traditional hihat experience. I did experiment with a 10" Roland PD-105BK pad that I borrowed from a friend as my snare (seen in one of the pics), and although it worked and triggered great there was a heckin' hotspot in and around the middle due to the single trigger cone (believe me I tried to tune it out in trigger and software settings, but there's no way around it). I went back to the stock Command snare and so much better. With minimal upgrades (or none!) and quality drum computer software, you'll be blown away at how amazing this kit feels and sounds for the price--easily rivals Roland's best (although with mid and high-end Roland modules you're not reliant on hooking up to a computer to get amazing sounds...but you're gonna pay dearly for the lack of that extremely minor inconvenience). For personal enjoyment and/or practicing then the kit is perfect for the intermediate drummer straight out of the box. You really can't go wrong! Read more

Review:Very happy with this kit. Easy to put together and more than covers my needs and desires. I’m more than happy with the performance and adjustability of the sounds. Midi out works excellent for recording in Logic. Anyone that’s negative about this kit should be looking at a higher price range for nit picky features. Read more

Review:This is a brilliant kit. From first setting it up it feels solid and looks great. The support bars are notched inside, so will never rotate no matter how hard the pads are hit. The mesh heads are quiet and feel better to play than my acoustic kit! The only thing that does make some noise is the bass pad and pedal (the kick pad). The drum voices sound great and can be eadilychanged, so you can go from an acoustic kit to a rock kit (or pop or funk or Indian kit etc etc) at the press of a button. The Hihat pedal is really responsive and sound great, it is very responsive and behaves almost like my acoustic kit with a variable opening action. The whole kit is great but I think the Hihat action was perhaps the most impressive after reading reviews of other older kits. I've played acoustic drums on and off for 40 years but if an edrum kit of this standard had been available, I would have got one years ago. Read more

Review:The hihat stopped working properly after 3 weeks this prompted me to do some research and this is common with these kits (also a module blank screen failure can be an issue) and many people have had issues with Alesis customer services just ignoring them even though their kit is still in warranty, so as it was still within Amazon return period I felt I had no option but to return it for a refund. Shame as I REALLY enjoyed playing it. I have now purchased a Roland TD-17KVX and whilst it cost nearly 3x as much in all honesty it is so worth it. I have fallen in love with playing the drums (never played them until I purhcased this kit) and I can see me playing until I physically cannot anymore :p Read more

Review:So!.... I’m lefty flip, a mouth-breather and was bottle fed! The assembly, personally, taking the above into the equation, coupled with a direct comparison to the old nitro kit, was a dream! Build quality, design and looks, practicality and Uber stability, makes the whole thing “winner-winner, chicken-dinner” for me! Review:Drum kit was great right off the start. Good quality frame and electronics produce great sound and flexibility. All around great complete kit. We ran into one problem where after 6months the bass drum had a whole in the mesh where the kick hits the mesh. I contacted the company via warranty claim and the first thing they did was send me a new mesh to replace the one with a whole. Then they proceeded to inform me that the felt side of the kick beater should not be used on the Mesh and instead I should turn the beater around so the hard plastic hits the mesh and I should have no more problems. This is the way customer service should be! Replace the part then give advice. That being said if you buy this kit save yourself the trouble by installing the kick beater with the hard plastic side hitting the Mesh drum. Read more

Review:I decided to get back into drumming after a long time off. The product is excellent, and i only removed a star because if you live in an apartment then you will need to buy or make your own drum riser to reduce the sound of the bass pedal. Neighbors will be at the door if not as you are essentially stamping on the floor. Read more
