Review:No quality control problems at all. You have to buy the most expensive model to get a useable number of ports. The cheaper model only has two USB-C ports, and one of them has to be used for the power supply, so it's like there's only one port, pretty pathetic. My cheap Windows laptop came with an HDMI port plus 3 USB ports, plus a separate input for the power cable. If you are going to dock a MacBook to a monitor, then I highly recommend a Plugable USB C Dock with Charging. Don't buy one of those super-cheap usb hubs, you won't be happy with how scarily hot they get.) Beware that if you want to drive a 4K monitor at 60 Hz, on a 13" Macbook you have to have one port totally dedicated to the monitor. They say the keyboard is great, but it doesn't seem all that special to me, so the keyboard on the previous model must have been pretty bad. Love the trackpad, MacBooks have the best trackpads. I don't like the touchbar. It's a lot easer to adjust the volume or monitor brightness by holding down a FN key while pushing a button. The touchbar is really a pain in the you-know-what. I'm not a fan of the glossy screens on MacBooks. Elsewhere, the standard for computers is matte anti-glare screens that are easier to look at without seeing reflections. Also, this "retina" screen has way more resolution than you need, the standard 1920 pixel width on PC laptops is more than enough pixels for a 13" screen. These Macs have worse battery life because they have to drive so many pixels. But colors are certainly great. There's no denying it's a great screen, but not necessarily the most practical screen. It does a lot less weird stuff than my Windows laptop. But still not totally free of bugs. But Mac's biggest fault incompatible it is with all the software you want to use. Not only does it not work with Windows software, that's obvious, but it also doesn't work with older Mac software such as Microsoft Office 2011. And as this is the last Intel MacBook (maybe), this means that there's going to be a whole bunch of future software that won't run on this. Battery life is pretty good, it can last a whole day of work IF that work doesn't include Zoom meetings with video. Zoom meetings with video eat up the battery life. Still my most favorite laptop computer ever, but annoyed about not being able to use Office 2011. Read more

Review:I have wanted a Mac for as long as I can remember. I can't tell you how often I thought about it, and always put it off, thinking I couldn't justify the price difference between a Mac and my go to Dell laptops. Well, you get what you pay for, and the difference is beyond amazing! First of all, I have 3 dells in my "computer junkyard" now, all not working. Two I'm still paying for! They have been nothing but problems, crashing and freezing ALL THE TIME. I have had to have my Dell repaired and replaced within 12 months of purchase. So in the end, you end up with junk and more wasted money than if you just bought the Mac from the getgo. And, Amazon lets you finance it over 12 months at zero interest, making it super affordable! While I have not owned my MacBook for very long, I can tell you the difference is incredible! I have been using PC since computers first came out (yup, I'm old!) and apple just makes everything so much easier and more intuitive, that I already in just a month, know more on the Mac than on my old dell. It just makes sense, and I now wonder why I waited this long to make the switch. And I LOVE the magic keyboard. Normally computers stress me out, but learning how to use my new MacBook has actually been fun. If you think you can't learn how to transition from a PC to a Mac, trust me, it's easy. And if you are having a hard time justifying the price, I will say, I have never looked back. Normally I have a little buyer's remorse after a big purchase.... not this time! It is worth every penny! Oh, and when you have a question, you actually speak with someone IN AMERICA! For me, this is important. I need to be able to understand the tech specialist, especially for tech stuff! Read more

Review:I bought this MacBook as I needed a well built (long lasting), fast, compact laptop that can handle day to day tasks in addition to creative work down the road (I am trying to get into Photography and Video Editing). This laptop checked everything off my list. In addition, I wanted a laptop that can seamlessly sync with my phone (iPhone 11 Pro). I love that I can answer calls, respond to texts, and read emails between all of my devices automatically without having to really set anything up or picking up my phone. The screen is also one of the best to look at in my opinion. I briefly had the 2019 entry level model of the MacBook Pro 13 with 2 ports but I quickly returned it as the 2 ports where quite limiting, I wasn't satisfied with the performance, and the butterfly keyboard was not my favorite and gave me anxiety. I am glad I waited a bit longer for this refresh before going for the higher end model as I am actually saving money as I did not have to purchase upgrades to get the 16 gigs of ram I wanted and I also get twice the storage as well which means I don't have to buy an external SSD, until I am much closer to starting creative work. So far I am very impressed with the MacBook Pro and it is so far my favorite laptop to date solely because it works so well with other gadgets I have. The only thing I could nitpick is it still feels expensive for the specs but you get what you pay for, this is a sturdy/premium feeling laptop and blows away any of the laptops I have purchased in the past that feel cheap. If I run into any issues I will update my review but I can't wait to dive in further. Read more
