Review:Buyers should be aware that this is a rudimentary kiddy scope and not to expect much of it’s poor lenses I am a scientist and observe myriads of things under scope all day and I was disappointed with this product. The quality of slides are good Buyers should be well aware that this is just a kiddy scope and not to expect much of it’s poor lenses. You can not awaken or enthuse your child about the unseen world with this scope the slides I found out are pretty good when observed under a real microscope but not with theses el- cheapo lenses Read more

Review:CHEAP!!!! Do NOT be fooled - all the silver shown is cheap plastic! And you cannot switch the light on & off - screw out bottom to insert batteries (royal pain) but to turn the light on & off, all you do is swivel the mirror! Since this microscope is basically built for 5 year olds, I can't imagine they would be careful to do this all the time, so the double AA batteries (that YOU supply, they don't even come with the set), will run out quickly for sure. As I looked through the entire manual (vague as it was), all it suggests is that if you're concerned "just pop out the batteries"... yeah. With a very small phillips head screwdriver every time, then you get to put everything back the second your child wants to use it again - VERY convenient. But my nephew at age 12 would laugh at this thing anyway - cheap, little pieces of plastic attempting to represent actual science tools & utensils... No way am I giving him this thing for Christmas! It's going back!! Read more

Review:My kids LOVE this microscope! It’s easy to use and the slide it comes with are really cool! I know some reviews are harsh but we’re completely satisfied. Also the light DOES switch off-it rotates on and off. Flip it down to turn up and flip up towards the slides to turn the light back on. We haven’t done the brine shrimp yet but we have taken our own specimens to make slides. For exactly a sliver of tomato AHS even the wing of a dead bee we found (pictured in review). We love this! Highly this as a gift or just to use in your at-home distance learning curriculum and fur fun! Great STEM resource! Read more

Review:Okay microscope kit for a kid's first time use. Wish there was better clarity/magnification through eyepiece lens. Tweezers provided are a bit of a joke, but I'm assuming it's for safety purposes. Slides are decent. Vials are decent. Look. It's a kid product therefore, you don't really want top notch quality on everything being that it's all most likely going to be handled roughly. It's a starter kit. As a starter kit, it serves its purpose greatly. I am a scientist and although, for me, it doesn't operate on a level that I'd find to be "impressive"...it reminds me a lot of the first microscope I had as a kid and, to be honest, at that stage of my life, I was impressed. Don't be jaded. Children will love this. Read more

Review:My daughter just received this and we played with it right away. It came nicely packaged and it is easy to use and we are excited about the experiments. My primary concern with this is that the light is way too bright!! I feel like I damaged my eyes looking into the scope. I got an immediate headache. I have serious concerns allowing my daughter to play with this too long due to my concern for her eyes. On previous microscopes the light comes from the top and not shinning directly in your eye. Review:My 9 year old Niece was asking for a microscope for her birthday and when I seen this one a lightening deal I decided to buy it and I am so happy that I did. This kit has everything that your young scientist needs! I mean it has everything, there are blank slides and labels, tweezers and "scapulas" small viles and so much more. It even includes shrimp eggs to hatch. How cool is that?!? I also picked up the Amscope 48 pc kids prepared slides. My niece was so excited about this present that at her birthday party she had all the kids taking turns looking at slides of onion skins and dragon fly wings and leaves. This is a great starter microscope for a little scientist and it is educational fun for the whole family. This makes a great way to get kids and adults off the electronics and learning about the world around them Read more

Review:My son is 6 1/2 and asked for a microscope. I looked all over and was overwhelmed with choices. I picked this based on reviews....however I wish I was able to return it and start over BUT my son loves it so we just ordered better slides, some droppers and a new batch of eggs because ours never did anything. The rest of the kit is pretty much useless and there is one piece I can’t figure out what it does but it’s in the pictures of the contents and In the box! The lens itself is not all that great. It had something on it because all I could see were microscopic floating organisms that were stuck inside. It made looking at things difficult. I ordered a pack of slides with various things on them and they weren’t bad but again the quality of the lens wasn’t good enough to look. My son likes it and that’s what matters. I would suggest spending the money for a really decent one. They are fun and my favorite gift as a kid for Christmas was my telescope so it’s nice to see my son have the same interest. Read more

Review:I took this out of the box just to check it out (it’s a Christmas present) and I think it seems pretty awesome. It’s for my 6 year old, so clearly it doesn’t need to be the quality that is needed for an actual scientist. I’m sure she will have countless hours of fun with it!! Read more
